FIAT 508 S 1935
FIAT 508 S (BALILLA COPPA DPORO mm), 1935, ASI/FIVA papers, fiche ACISPORT.
Just back from the recent 1000 Miglia 2019, this nice and genuine Coppa d’Oro in the MM version (cycle wings model) is a very original example with a wonderful patina, that’s the result of an old and accurate old restoration back in the late seventies. The car is accompanied by quite a lot of motoring historic documents, proving its provenance and life since 1935, it’s part of the FIAT Italian Register, and it can be immediately driven as it is, with new tires and a performing and fresh overhauled engine, quite performing and easy to use. The 108CS unit is a second batch engine, so it’s coupled with a very pleasant four speed gearbox, not really modern or comfortable, but quite appreciable. This rare and charming Spider Sport is surely not a Concourse example, but it’s a honest and eligible prewar racing car.
