Max Bontempi was born in 1961 in Brescia, the city of the Mille Miglia.
In love with motoring action since he was a child, he put very soon his main  interest on the matter of classic and vintage vehicles, particularly English made, because, for his personal taste, old Bentleys, Aston Martin and MGs could combine fine design with  good performance better than any other car in any other era…
When Max get the driving licence, his first car, a sixties Jaguar 3.8 S, was an old saloon, without an important value for experts or collectors, but, at the same price of the small utility cars of his school fellows, the Jag was offering him six cylinders, a luxury walnut facia, a wonderful smell of Connolly leather all inside, and the surprising capacity of its double fuel tanks, monitored by a tired Jaeger gauge, and always empty…
Since then, for the last twenty five years, passion is being often in touch with profession and some times it becomes a real job, when Max, still working in his family business, was involved in the restoration of an old Jaguar XK,  daily driving some sporty Triumph TRs, and racing a performing Mini Cooper in the Italian Rallies…
Suddenly, some years ago, he fall in love with pre-war racing cars, discovering those vehicles that at the beginning of the century were trying to represent the future of motor sport, with small compressed engines, each one different from an other one, simple but precise gearboxes, narrow wire wheels and incredibly oversized steering wheels, to drive with the grandparents aim in our mind and too much wind in our eyes…

After three entering  at the historical Mille Miglia with unique and exceptional sportscars, Max can finally focus his attention  on the matter that he really appreciates: “vintage racing cars”, preferably “pre-war” unique pieces. His contacts with the best connoiseurs all over Europe, his experience with disappeared labels, such as HRG, Riley, Singer, Siata or Cisitalia, his peculiar studies about competitions from the ‘30s to the ‘50s, his confidence with Italian, English and French special car bodies are now available to all the enthusiasts who would like to contact the company MBM Motorstorica in Brescia to buy historical cars, rare accessories and hard to find spare parts; Max is there also for a simple suggestion or a proper and detailed consulting job…
MBM Motorstorica is a new business venture, born at the beginning of 2004; it’s Max’ s dream that came true, a place where he can finally dedicate his day by day life to people who trust in the vintage car world as a fascinating passion, but also to those careful investors who can look at car collection as a charming chance for a profitable future.
